1. BOSE
Since Bose Corporation was founded in 1964 by Massachusetts Institute of Technology Professor Dr. Amar Bose, the original philosophies and founding principles have not changed.
Bose maintains an exceptionally strong commitment to research, for it is within the discipline of research that yesterday's fiction becomes tomorrow's reality. We strive to identify things which, when made better, improve people's lives.
However, it is more than just research. We aim for excellence in everything we do, from the way we run our business to our customer service, from our products to the owner's manuals you use to set them up. In everything we do, we truly believe that "good enough" is merely a starting point.
We have applied our commitment and passion for innovation to develop unique sound solutions for virtually any audio challenge in any application, even the space programme. While many of our products are designed for entertainment and home audio solutions, you'll find Bose sound is prevalent in both the aviation and automotive industries, too.
We have also designed professional sound systems for many applications, including stadiums and auditoriums, houses of worship, retail businesses, department stores and restaurants.
Our commitment has served us well. Today, Bose has operations in the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan. And we've recently entered the markets in China and India.

2. Buy Films on DVD and VHS - MovieMail UK
It's our tenth anniversary but the idea stays the same - to share interesting films and to celebrate one of the world's great communal art forms. Thousands of DVDs are released every month; we select the best and most worthwhile and let you know about them - in our monthly film catalogue, on our website, in email newsletters and in the podcast.
MovieMail was started by Carol Hunter in 1996. Carol was never a film intellectual, just someone who really loved movies and noticed that most of her favourites were not easy to get on video and many of them were not made in the English Language.
MovieMail's first order was received on July 7 1996 (for Route de Corinthe, The Tin Drum and Le Boucher). At that time Carol lived on the Scottish Hebridean Island of Islay - not the best choice for fast delivery. MovieMail had a web site within 3 months of its start up. The site has expanded with the business.
In Autumn 1997 Carol moved to Hereford in England, taking MovieMail with her.
In 2000 we opened an office in London to house our publication and marketing efforts.
In April 2005 we formed Moviemail (Jersey) to improve our offering even further. Customer Service is still provided by our experienced staff in London.
In April 2006, we consolidated our two offices into MovieMail Towers, situated in Camden, North London.

3. Celebrities LV
A celebrity is a widely-recognized or famous person who commands a high degree of public and media attention. The word stems from the Latin adjective celeber meaning famous or celebrated. While fame is generally considered a necessary precondition for celebrity status, it is not always sufficient. There has to be a level of public interest in the person, which may or may not be connected to the reason they are famous. Many celebrities are only so for a certain amount of time, perhaps after appearing on a television program or doing something to cast them into the public eye, such as rowing the Atlantic Ocean or being the first to do something. There are also specialist celebrities, who are only celebrities to those who enjoy a particular subject and so consider them a celebrity.
A public figure such as a politician or CEO may be famous, but they may not become a celebrity unless public and mass media interest is piqued. For example Virgin Director Richard Branson was famous as a CEO, but he did not become a global celebrity until he attempted to circumnavigate the globe in a hot air balloon. On the other hand, mass entertainment personalities such as soap opera actors or music stars are likely to become celebrities even if the person deliberately avoids media attention.
A famous definition of celebrity comes from the cultural theorist Daniel Boorstin. In his book,The Image: A Guide to Pseudo-Events in America, he cynically describes celebrities as people well known for their "well-knowness".
A small number of celebrities can be considered 'global', in that their fame has spread across the English-speaking world and even into non-English-speaking cultures. These celebrities are often prominent political figures, Hollywood actors, globally successful pop musicians and sports stars. A few examples of internationally-known celebrities include South African politician Nelson Mandela, Hollywood actors Tom Cruise,Tom Hanks and Will Smith, Hollywood actresses such as Sarah Michelle Gellar,Jennifer Lopez, Lindsay Lohan, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston, pop singers Robbie Williams, Cher, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton and Madonna, and sports stars David Beckham and Tiger Woods.
The rise of international celebrities in acting and popular music is due in large part to the massive scope and scale of the US media industries, which has enabled US media firms to dominate the English-speaking film, television, and popular music markets. The reach of US entertainment products is further extended by large-scale illegal copying of Hollywood movies and US popular music, which makes inexpensive pirated versions of US DVDs and CDs available throughout South America and Asia.
