1. Buy Films on DVD and VHS - MovieMail UK
It's our tenth anniversary but the idea stays the same - to share interesting films and to celebrate one of the world's great communal art forms. Thousands of DVDs are released every month; we select the best and most worthwhile and let you know about them - in our monthly film catalogue, on our website, in email newsletters and in the podcast.
MovieMail was started by Carol Hunter in 1996. Carol was never a film intellectual, just someone who really loved movies and noticed that most of her favourites were not easy to get on video and many of them were not made in the English Language.
MovieMail's first order was received on July 7 1996 (for Route de Corinthe, The Tin Drum and Le Boucher). At that time Carol lived on the Scottish Hebridean Island of Islay - not the best choice for fast delivery. MovieMail had a web site within 3 months of its start up. The site has expanded with the business.
In Autumn 1997 Carol moved to Hereford in England, taking MovieMail with her.
In 2000 we opened an office in London to house our publication and marketing efforts.
In April 2005 we formed Moviemail (Jersey) to improve our offering even further. Customer Service is still provided by our experienced staff in London.
In April 2006, we consolidated our two offices into MovieMail Towers, situated in Camden, North London.

3. Drive a Ferrari, Lamborghini, racing cars and more.
Like many race circuits Thruxton was originally a wartime airfield. Commissioned in 1941 the airfield was host to both the RAF and USAF and played a major part in the D-Day landings as a base for troop carrying aircraft and gliders. Declared surplus to requirements in 1946, motorsport started in 1950 with motor bikes on a track comprising both the runways and perimeter roads. Cars joined the bikes in 1952 for only one year as the deteriorating wartime tarmac was breaking up badly. Amazingly bikes continued racing until 1965, but by then plans were under way to redevelop the site and motor racing returned on a new track in 1968.
The new layout ignored the old runways and followed the lines of the perimeter road with the inclusion of the chicane and further round the track three tight corners in succession: Campbell, Cobb and Segrave, commonly referred to as the complex. Even with these tight corners Thruxton is the fastest race circuit in the UK, with Formula Renaults averaging well over 100 mph in race conditions. Thruxton soon gained a reputation as a real drivers circuit with its seemingly never ending high speed corners around the back of the track where success required total commitment.
Thruxton's fame grew from the Easter Monday Formula 2 meetings where Formula 1 drivers of the day battled with up and coming talent. Households names like Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart and Jochen Rindt all thrilled the crowds in the early races. Since then Thruxton has seen all our recent Formula 1 drivers race regularly at the track at some time in their career. In 1993 Damon Hill Formula One world champion drove a demonstration run in the Williams FW15C, recording an incredible 57.6 second lap of the 2.4 mile circuit, an average speed of 147.25 mph. It is now the high speed rounds of the British Touring car championship and superbikes that regularly bring in capacity crowds. If you follow this series you may have seen Thruxton on the television or even lapped the circuit on the Playstation Touring Car game, but as always there is nothing like doing it for real.

4. Emitations.com - Celebrity Inspired Cubic Zirconia Jewelry
A true entrepreneur at heart, Au-Co grew up working for a family business and graduated from University of California- San Diego in 1999. Before starting Emitations, she held several positions in the dot-com industry. As a stylish businesswoman with an eye for deals, she set out to start an accessory company that emulated the designs of celebrities at affordable prices. In her scant down time, Au-Co enjoys salsa dancing, running, traveling and scanning hot celebrity magazines. Although Auco admires the classic, timeless styles of Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O, she is up on current jewelry trends like crossbone skulls and her "incredible hunk" necklace. She digs the humor in elegant yet rebellious jewelry pieces. Combined with flowing ,colorful skirts and strappy dress sandals, Au-Co's style could be described as fiercely feminine.
Emitations.com started in the bedroom of an economics major with a serious love for accessories. In 1998, Au-Co Mai put an elegant three-strand choker up for auction on eBay. Impressed by the consumer demand, she began researching ways to offer jewelry at affordable prices on a larger scale. The following year, Emitations.com was born. Mai has since transformed a side project for extra cash into a top-selling Internet jewelry company dedicated to providing affordable elegance along with excellent, personalized customer service. Shoppers are routinely impressed by the high quality merchandise and spectacular customer service they receive with each order placed at Emitations.com.
Emitations' ability to create comparable pieces worn by celebrities on the red carpet and Rodeo Drive has given us national media attention in magazines and on television. Extensive research on celebrity jewelry trends allows us to deliver exactly what the customer is looking for, making Emitations.com the one place to shop for celebrity-inspired jewelry trends.
