6. Photo Pendants & Picture Charms Jewelry.
"I received my locket and it is just beautiful. I love the pictures inside engraved in color. I have not taken it off since I put it on. My 5 month old son passed away on April 23 2006 at Childrens Hospital in Birmingham and it was all so unexpected. I had his pictures engraved inside the locket on both sides and had the back of the locket engraved with a little sentiment to him. This way I can wear this locket and keep in close to my heart all the time. I will be telling my friends and family about your website and I will be back myself to order more. Thanks so much for this wonderful piece of jewelry, I love it. Dothan, Alabama"

"I received my charm bracelet a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it! I have gotten many compliments and I am forwarding the Web site to friends now. The picture on the charm is clear, exactly how I wanted it cropped from the original photo. Thank you!"

"I am especially pleased with my "Picture on Gold." The artists filled in a part that had been cut off in the original picture... amazing. This is my fourth gift order, & I'll be back for more."
-- Susan J Franke

"I would like to thank Danny and everyone @ PicturesOnGold.com for the fantastic service. I placed my order at the last minute as I always seem to do. I contacted Danny who assured me that the pendant I ordered could be engraved with my photo and inscription as soon as I e-mailed them the photo. He also told me that he would immediately ship the pendant that same day and advised me to save my money on the express shipping options because he knew that UPS would be able to get it to me within two days, which was when I needed it. The pendant was done beautifully and arrived on time, just as I had been told. It made a great gift. I felt like my order was given special treatment but I'm confident that they give everyone this same great service. I would highly recommend PicturesOnGold.com Thanks Again"

7. The Insurance Cos
Insurance is vital to a free enterprise economy. It protects society from the consequences of financial loss from death, accidents, sicknesses, damage to property, and injury caused to others. The person seeking to transfer risk, the insured (policyholder), pays a relatively small amount, the premium, to an insurance company, the insurer, which issues an insurance policy in which the insurer agrees to reimburse the insured for any losses covered by the policy. Insurance is the process of spreading the risk of economic loss among as many as possible subject to the same kind of risk and is based on the laws of probability (chance of a given outcome happening) and large numbers (enables the laws of probability to work). There are many perils (causes of loss) that society faces, some natural (e.g., earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, flood, drought), some human (e.g., arson, theft, fraud, vandalism, contamination, pollution, terrorism), and some economic(e.g.,expropriation, inflation, obsolescence, depressions/recessions). Insurers are able to provide coverage for virtually any predictable loss.

Early History
Concepts of insurance evolved thousands of years ago. The Chinese, for example, divided their cargoes among many boats to reduce the severity of loss from the perils of the seas, while the biblical story of Joseph and the famine in Egypt illustrates the storing of grain during the seven good years to relieve shortages during the seven years of famine. Marine insurance emerged in London when ships sailed for the New World. Fire insurance arose from the great fire of London in 1666, in which 14,000 buildings were destroyed. In 1752 Benjamin Franklin founded the first mutual fire insurance company in the United States, the Philadelphia Contributorship for the Insurance of Houses from Loss by Fire. In 1759, he helped establish the first life insurance company, now known as the Presbyterian Ministers Fund. In 1887 the first auto-liability policy was written. Advancing technologies and a dynamic marketplace constantly change society's insurance needs. The insurance industry's goal is to respond to those needs with available and affordable insurance.

8. True Religion Jeans, People for Peace, Da-Nang, Sass & Bide, Sweetees, Project E Clothing - OurFashionHouse.com
Renee Roland Patti's designer high-fashion business seems out of place at the back of a nondescript, low-rise office/commercial space in Eastlake. Aside from a small display window and minimal signage, you would never guess what's inside.

Part New York showroom, part warehouse, part boutique and definitely on point with hot, right-now styles seen on the backs of Jessica Simpson, Sienna Miller and Kate Moss, Our Fashion House appears as an oasis on Northeast Ohio's retail fashion scene.

"I'm a trend watcher. I read the fashion mags every day, and I look for who's wearing what," Patti says, explaining the store's ubercurrent inventory. The space is filled with pretty things from Sass & Bide, funky stuff by Heatherette, military chic by Da-Nang and denim from True Religion - a name you've just got to have if you look good in low-rider, hipster jeans.

The periodicals Patti peruses for inspiration include not only traditional fashion publications such as Women's Wear Daily and Vogue but also gossip sheets such as Star and People magazines.

Apparently, watching the trends has paid off for this mother of three girls.

According to Patti, 36, of Eastlake, the originally all-online business generated $19,000 in sales the first year in 2002 and produced more than $500,000 in 2005.

So what are this season's styles that are making the cash register ring?

"Denim is what really made the business from the beginning, and it continues to grow and grow," Patti says. The True Religion line is the biggest seller. Our Fashion House also carries other premium denim from Hudson, People for Peace and Sass and Bide that range in price from $150 to $400.

Shoppers - at the store and online - also will find vintage, distressed preppy polos from Project E from $50 to $70, as well as Da-Nang's spring 2006 collection of military-inspired vintage surplus silk. A right-now pair of khaki walking shorts will set you back $140. For more sophisticated tastes, a Pegah Anvarian open-sided sweater made from 100 percent bamboo sells for $364. At least it's a conversation piece.

Street style shows up in crocheted surfer boots in natural and black for $125. For urban gals, rubber rain boots in a darling antique toile pattern by Tamara Henriques sell for $109.
